Call Me Clutzy

Early morning on the 31st, I got to work, signed in, did all the usual stuff & headed out with my partner (we usually have partners during the night shifts). Sounds like all is ok & boring, right? Well, you know how I like to talk, lol...I was walking & talking & got hurt. :)

I misjudged a step I use almost every single stinkin' day & twisted my ankle. Boy did that baby pop & hurt. I fell on my hindend ... STOP LAUGHING!! *smile* I couldn't stand up very well & yes, my ankle hurt, but I had pain in my shin bone. Well, being things as they are, I was on the clock, my fault or not, so I *had* to go to ER.

Yada, yada, blah blah & LOTS of smart comments from my partner, Mr. Giggles, & I find out I have a stress fracture on my tibia! (So that means I'm either really clutzy or super talented, huh?) Good grief!!!

They gave me pain medicine if I need it, which I'm NOT taking unless I REALLY have to. And, now it looks like I'm sacked to desk work for the next few weeks, or what may be the 'end' of my career (since I'm really leaning towards quitting).

So anyhoo....I call Romeo to let him know NOT to freak out if he hears me come home. Of course, the call in the middle of the morning freaked him out, lol.

He's like, 'As long as you're ok....can you drive? What about your car?'

Me: 'My car??? It's at the cop shop. Just was letting you know I'm coming home, Giggles is bringing me - it'd be nice if you go ahead & unlock the door.'

Romeo: 'Ok, but we'll have to go get your car sometime today.'

Me: 'When I want to get it, we will. I'll be home soon.'

Geez! I didn't realize he was so in love with my car, lol!!! :) Guys!

I told Giggles he better not do anything 'heroic' while I wasn't with him, lol. We got to talking on my way home & I am sort of glad at least for New Year's eve was a a pencil pusher....I didn't have to worry about anyone passing out or worse in the car .... (I *hate* cleaning up the back of the car!!) guess that is a perk, huh?

I get to go to the doc's tomorrow & will likely either have another temp cast put on & set up for a surgery or will get 'lucky' & will just have a cast.... :?

So here I am, leg in the air & bossing Romeo & company around to get me 'this' & 'that'...(not REALLY!!) :)
